Paperwork, who likes it? We don’t like it at home, but what if we don’t like it at work? What if the administrative departments of your company is not functioning properly?
Last week I needed to have the results from a test at the hospital, 4 weeks ago. So I called my doctor for the information. After some searching, he told me he did not yet receive the results.
So I called the hospital, where, after about 2 minutes on hold, I was told that the document was not yet sent to my physician. Not via snail mail, but not yet via the electronic highway either. And yet I specifically asked to send all the data directly to my doctor.
Net result: 3 people have wasted time already on something that should have been done already. And I have not yet called back my doctor, another conversation that could have been avoided.
If everybody could focus just a little more on the paperwork, we could gain time to do much more fun stuff.
Do you have any examples of time wasted because of administrative errors?
