What if there is a great incentive for achieving personal results?

There was a very interesting post on TechCrunch yesterday, written by Robin Wauters about StickK, a company that allows you to register a contract, where you will be forced to pay up if you don’t meet a personal goal. The money then goes to a person or organisation that you designate.

Robin is right on, there is a lot of potential in this idea. A couple of years ago, a few colleagues entered into a commitment to loose either 5 or 10% of their weight. If they did not achieve the target, they had to put 1,000 or 500 EUR respectively into a pot. The money in the pot was then distributed amongst the people who did achieve. As far as I know, everybody achieved their weight loss target.

Would you put a contract on yourself? I am thinking about it…
